Websites Get the Word Out

spoken oakZoa Smith, a spoken word performance artist, had a registered domain name and a far-reaching idea. She envisioned a site that would convey the rich history of spoken word in the United States.

We used an oak tree image to denote history in the family tree tradition. To balance a touch of flare without compromising easy access, I implemented a flash file to one page providing a dynamic graphic representation to ZoaÕs spoken word history.

Because Zoa wanted to maintain and update her own site without having to learn HTML, I built her site using templates and optimized it for use with Contribute, a user-friendly content management system.

Zoa Smith:

ÒMeg was my best resource for answering novice questions. She even set me up with easy-to-use editing software, so now I can grow my site myself.Ó
