Spring Fever, Macintosh Variety

Silverfalls
It’s that time of year in Oregon when Mac enthusiasts converge on Silver Falls State Park for some high-quality hiking.
Hiking?!? Hardly.

We go to Silver Falls for MacCamp, a weekend-long event with Mac-focused classes, networking [wireless and verbal ;-) ], good food, new friends, and into-the-wee-hours Warcraft sessions.

Classes for the April 20-21-22 gathering include: Leopard (OS 10.5), GarageBand, Entourage, iPhoto, iWeb, System Preferences. Two sessions each are held Saturday morning, Saturday afternoon, and Sunday morning. A special addition to this MacCamp is a Saturday evening session led by Rob Griffiths, in which he will run a 20-question Jeopardy-style quiz on OS X.

While all these valuable workshops will keep one busy, I do actually recommend that you get out and take a hike. Silver Falls State Park is well-named for the many waterfalls dotting the trails throughout. One year, I brought my off-road bicycle for a wonderfully muddy ride.

Sign up for MacCamp.
