My pen and pencil drawing tools are carried in a narrow zippered black bag that has a clip on one end. I suppose so you could clip it to your backpack? That seems silly. Just put it *IN* the backpack.
Nonetheless, here is a sketch of the clip on the end of the bag.
Last night, I attended the monthly Mac user group meeting. Craig Hickman (U of O professor) demo’d his new OSX version of Kid Pix - called Beautiful Dorena. It is way cool and a fun drawing program. Check it out at Hickman’s site. Hickman is a real character, very creative and off-key. very entertaining.
These are some sample drawings made in BD. If you’ve got a Mac, you must download it. It’s FREE!
I went to MacForce on Saturday to learn how easy it is to create a widget. Widgets are, according to Apple, mini-applications that let you perform common tasks and provide you with fast access to information. The secret to building a widget is as easy as building a web page. Widgets are composed of five files:
If you can build a webpage with CSS and JS, you can join the thousands of widget creators already out there and make your widget available to the world. Well, the world using OSX Tiger, that is.
Another plus: Since widgets are used on Apple systems, you have more flexibility in your widget design and font usage. You don’t have to worry that a user won’t have Apple Chancery or Marker Felt.
Watch for my new widget soon. If you are running OS 10.4, you can download it and run it!
